Darryl leads Jackson Russell’s commercial team.  His main areas of practice are corporate and commercial, securities, finance and commercial property.   Darryl also advises clients on trust law matters.  

Darryl provides general commercial advice, including commercial contracts, joint ventures, corporate governance and franchises.   He is experienced in advising on the buying and selling of businesses and companies ranging from large corporates to family owned companies.   He also advises foreign clients on investing and doing business in New Zealand and compliance with New Zealand securities laws.

Darryl gained international experience with the London office of international law firm Allen & Overy.  He has a law degree (with honours) and a commerce degree from the University of Canterbury.

Outside of the office, Darryl enjoys spending time with his young family, friends, running and mountain biking.  He also enjoys attending theatre and art galleries and being on or near the sea
