Marcus is a commercial law specialist whose main practice areas are corporate law, commercial law, intellectual property, and information and communications technology.
Marcus has advised a broad range of clients who include individuals and small, medium and large companies. He has extensive legal expertise from senior roles in private practice and as senior legal counsel for companies in New Zealand and internationally.
Marcus enjoys meeting clients’ particular legal requirements while keeping a close eye on their commercial goals. He advises on many issues including:
- commercial agreements
- mergers and acquisitions
- shareholder, director and company governance issues
- business formation and structuring such as joint ventures and partnerships
- intellectual property issues, including the commercialisation of intellectual
property and
- all aspects of information technology, telecommunications, internet and
broadcasting technologies.
In addition to his New Zealand qualifications he is a UK-qualified solicitor and has run his own business interests in Europe. He maintains a large network of international business contacts.
In his spare time, he tries to keep up with his sons and enjoys catching up with friends. He reads, expresses his views on all things relating to design, and undertakes sporting pursuits such as swimming, cycling, skiing and surfing.
