Richard has extensive experience in civil litigation and regularly appears before tribunals and courts at all levels.  He also presides as a Magistrate in the Pitcairn Island jurisdiction and is a member of the Pitcairn Parole Commission.  His practice areas are broad, ranging from negligence and breach of contract claims, family protection and testamentary promises challenges to estates and intellectual property claims.  He advises iwi in negotiations with the Crown over Waitangi Tribunal and sits on the board of a number of trusts. 

Richard is married with 3 children, who have now left home and pursuing careers in IT, in the law, and in business.  He enjoys regular tennis, golf, and cycling, and travel to unusual overseas destinations.
