Michele is an LLB/BA graduate from Auckland University. After her admission in December 2012, she worked for Jim Farmer QC, assisting him with a wide range of litigation matters.
She has appeared as junior counsel in the High Court, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court and has experience drafting court documents at each level. This experience has given her an understanding of the preparation required to effectively and responsibly represent clients. It has also given her insight into the strategy involved at each stage of the litigation process.
Michele has also experienced the benefits of alternative dispute resolution and has been involved in negotiating settlements. She understands the importance of pursuing these options when necessary.
Michele particularly enjoys liaising with clients and delivering advice that meets their individual challenges. Her approach is personable, cost effective and consistent.
Michele’s previous projects have included advising and acting for:
  • The directors of a finance company regarding their obligations under the Securities Act 1978 (Jeffries v R, Graham v R)
  • A client seeking both a judicial review of a suspension order granted by the Human Rights Review Tribunal under s92O of the Human Rights Act 1993 and a declaration to join compensation proceedings (Spencer v Attorney General – sequel to Atkinson v Ministry of Health).
  • A private client defending a claim for relief for common mistake under the Contractual Remedies Act 1977.
When she is not in the office, Michele enjoys running on Takapuna beach, skiing on the slopes of Mt Ruapehu and being in the company of friends and family.
